By: Will on 1 December 2016The Edelrid Eddy is probably the closest thing I have ever come to idiot proof. Between the diagram on the front and on the inside of how to thread the device, plus the robust calming device that doesn’t release when the force is taken away, and the sensitive lever that only releases the cam in the middle of the levering action, it’s pretty much impossible to drop someone with this! I use it for my setting, I use it to belay people on projects when they are hanging heaps, I use it for lead courses for lead belayers who are just learning to catch falls! This thing is the shiz.
